Telecom Order CRTC 98-636
On 12 June 1998, Northwestel Inc. filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to Message Toll Service Tariff Item 302, Toll-free Service (Canada & U.S.), to provide for a reduction in per minute toll-free rates and a simplified discount structure to reduce the existing disparity in rates between the company's eastern and western operating areas, to bring Northwestel's rates closer to those offered in the south and to make the service more attractive to small business customers and low volume users.

In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
The proposed tariff revisions to become effective on 1 July 1998 are approved on an interim basis.
