Telecom Order CRTC 98-1206
On 26 October 1998, BC TEL filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to General Tariff Item 146, Operator Services, introducing Directory Assistance Block, an optional service which will allow BC TEL retail local and long distance customers to subscribe to a service which blocks direct access to BC TEL's Directory Assistance and will prevent the ability to direct dial either "411" or "1+604/250+555-1212" and to bill directory assistance charges to the subscriber's line.

In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
The proposed tariff revisions to become effective on 11 January 1999 are approved.
