The Commission has received the following applications:
ONTARIO REGION
1.  BRACEBRIDGE; GRAVENHURST, MUSKOKA BEACH AND MUSKOKA FALLS, Ontario
Applications (199700219, 199700216) by GRAVENHURST CABLE SYSTEM LIMITED to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertakings serving the above-mentioned localities as follows:
-  by deleting the condition of licence authorizing the distribution, at its option, of WXYZ-TV (ABC) and WTVS (PBS) Detroit, Michigan, as part of the basic service; and
-  by authorizing the licensee to add, on the basic service of its undertakings, the distribution of the programming services of WKBW-TV (ABC) and WNED (PBS) Buffalo, New York, received via microwave.
The licensee intends to continue the distribution of CHCH-TV Hamilton, Ontario, received via microwave instead of via CANCOM as presently authorized.

2.  OTTAWA, Ontario
Application (199618089) by BBS ONTARIO INCORPORATED, P.O. Box 9, Station 'O', Toronto, Ontario, M4A 2M9, to amend the broadcasting licence of its (television) programming undertaking CHRO-TV Pembroke, Ontario, by increasing the effective radiated power of its transmitter CHRO-TV-43 Ottawa from 231,000 to 282,000 watts and by relocating the authorized transmitter from a site near Dunrobin to the existing CFMT-TV-2 tower site near Manotick, Ontario.
The Commission notes that as a result of these changes the authorized coverage area would shift to the south-east.

Application (199702444) by SOUTH ASIAN TELEVISION CANADA LIMITED to amend the broadcasting licence of its ethnic specialty programming undertaking, by authorizing the distribution of its service across Canada.
Presently, this service is authorized for regional distribution to serve Ontario. The nature of the service, aimed at the South Asian community, will not be affected nor will SATV's program schedule or its proposals for Canadian programming.

In the event that the application is brought to the oral phase of a hearing it would be helpful to the Commission if you would provide reasons why your written comments are not sufficient and an appearance is necessary;
Your intervention will be considered by the Commission, and will form part of the public record of the proceeding without further notification to you, provided the procedure set out above has been followed. You will be contacted only if your submission raises procedural questions.
