Application (951417500) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence of the (television) programming undertaking CBIT-TV Sydney, by changing the channel of its transmitter CBIT-TV-20 Middle River from 11 to 9.
The applicant states that this change of channel will avoid interference to CIHF-TV-7 Sydney.

Applications (950199000, 950200600, 950201400) by FUNDY CABLE LTD./LTÉE, 199 Chesley Drive, Saint John, New Brunswick, E2K 4S9, to amend the broadcasting licences of the (cable) distribution undertakings serving the above-mentioned localities, as follows:
- by relieving the licensee from the requirement to distribute at least four television programming services delivered to its local head end by a network operator licensed to extend television and radio services to remote and underserved communities, at least one of which must be a Canadian programming service, pursuant to section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986; and
- by deleting the local head end at Lac Baker (Part III) (which is also used for the Clair and Caron Brook systems) and interconnecting it to the Edmundston (Class 1) system.
The licensee proposes to provide a discretionary tier in addition to an expanded basic service.

The broadcasting language will be Arabic with its various dialects, namely Lebanese and Egyptian. Some programs will also be broadcast in Armenian.

Application (951277300) by the CONSORTIUM DE TÉLÉVISION QUÉBEC CANADA INC. to amend the condition of licence No. 3. The amendment would allow Canadian programming expenditures for the broadcast year from 1st September 1995 to 31 August 1996 to be reduced from $4,684,000 to $3,712,000. The difference would be used to subsidize the purchase of decoders for small cable undertakings, and reflects the delayed introduction of digital video compression and the resultant savings as forecast at the last licence renewal.

Application (950223800) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the broadcasting licence of the (television) programming undertaking CBMT Montréal, by increasing the effective radiated power of its transmitter CBMYT Îles-de-la-Madeleine, from 2,900 to 3,200 watts.
The applicant states that it had to shorten the tower of this transmitter to bring it to acceptable standards and that the increase in the effective radiated power will compensate for the lower antenna height.
