Ottawa, 21 April 1994
Decision CRTC 94-167
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Deline (formerly Fort Franklin), Northwest Territories - 932254600
Addition of a transmitter
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1994-17 dated 2 March 1994, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CHAK Inuvik (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Deline (formerly Fort Franklin), operating on frequency 105.1 MHz (channel 286A1) with an effective radiated power of 166 watts.
The proposed FM transmitter will replace CBQO Deline. According to the CBC, the community of Deline will benefit from a higher quality signal and night-time reception free of interference as a result of the change. The CBC will cease operation of CBQO within twelve months following the implementation of the new transmitter.
