Decision

Ottawa, 9 November 1989
Decision CRTC 89-836
CHEZ-FM Inc.
Carleton Place, Ontario - 890063100
Following a Public Hearing in the National Capital Region on 27 June 1989, the Commission denies the application by CHEZ-FM Inc. for a licence to carry on an English-language (Group I) FM radio broadcasting transmitting undertaking at Carleton Place, on frequency 92.3 MHz, with an effective radiated power of 664 watts, to rebroadcast the CBC English-language AM radio network service, originating from CBO Ottawa.
The Commission is satisfied that the CBC's proposed FM station in Ottawa approved today in Decision CRTC 89-835 will provide the basic CBC radio service to the same areas as those proposed by CHEZ-FM Inc. for its new FM undertaking at Carleton Place.
The Commission acknowledges the intervention from the CBC opposing this application and the applicant's reply thereto.
Fernand Bélisle
Secretary General
