Renewal of Broadcasting Licences due to Expire in 1988
Pacific and Northern Region
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1987-251 dated 24 November 1987, the Commission renews the licences for the broadcasting undertakings listed in the appendix, from 1 September or 1 October 1988 to 31 August 1993, subject to the conditions specified in the licences to be issued.
The Commission also renews the licence for the television network operated by CKPG Television Limited, consisting of CKPG-TV Prince George and CFTK-TV Terrace, from 1 October 1988 to 31 August 1993, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued. The Commission notes that the microwave facilities used by CKPG Television Limited are leased by the CBC and used by the Corporation for the delivery of its network programming to CKPG-TV Prince George and CFTK-TV Terrace, both of which are CBC affiliates.
The CBC has installed switching equipment in order that CKPG Television Limited can utilize the microwave facilities during those hours when CBC programming is not being distributed to deliver from Prince George to Terrace syndicated programming, national advertising and other material which CKPG-TV and CFTK-TV have co-operatively acquired.
