  3. Submit the package.

Complete a broadcasting application form and create supporting documents

You first need to fill in the appropriate application form.

  1. Find the broadcasting application form you need.
  2. Download the application form to your computer.
  3. Fill in the form and save it.

You also need to create supporting documentation. Check the appendices in your application form. The appendices describe additional information you should provide with your application package.

Get your application package ready to go by naming files according to CRTC's requirements. You may also want to zip files together, if you have several.

Naming files

Add numbers to your file names, in ascending order, so that the documents appear in correct order on the public file. File names should also include a brief description of the document content. For example, "Doc1-Overview", "Doc2-Intro", and so forth.

Zipping files

If you have more than one file, you may want to zip them, to minimize the number of files you're dealing with. For more information, go to WinZip.

Fill in the Cover Page and attach files

  2. Log in to Access Key.
  3. Fill in the first page of the Cover Page. This includes information about the submission.

Confidential: Clearly identify whether the package contains confidential documents.

Follow-up documents: If you are submitting follow-up documents pertaining to an existing application, select Broadcasting, then select "Other" from the list of available types.
  4. On the second page, attach the application form and any supporting documents.

When the file is attached it shows up on a list.

To indicate that the document is confidential, check the "Confidential" box for that file. You can also remove a file from the list.
