Re: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2017-160 – Request for extension

Dear Ms. Edwards,

This letter is in response to the request by the Canadian Association of Community Television Users and Stations (CACTUS), dated 16 June 2017, for an extension to the 27 June 2017 deadline to file interventions in the above-noted proceeding. Specifically, CACTUS requested an additional four weeks (i.e., until 25 July 2017) to review the logs and accompanying materials placed on the public record on 18 May 2017.

I would note that an extended intervention period was factored in when the Commission set out the deadline in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2017-160. Interested parties were given 40 days instead of the standard 30 days to intervene in the proceeding.

It is also noted that CACTUS will have an opportunity to provide any further comments during the oral phase of the hearing.

Consequently, CACTUS' request is denied. The intervention deadline remains 27 June 2017. Replies are due on 7 July 2017.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Yours sincerely,
