Updated relief implementation plan for area codes 226 and 519 in southwestern Ontario

File number: 8698-C12-201214923

1. In Area code relief for area codes 226 and 519 in southwestern Ontario, Telecom Decision CRTC 2013-575, 30 October 2013, the Commission set the relief implementation date for area codes 226 and 519 at 4 June 2015, instead of 4 June 2016 as originally recommended by the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) ad hoc committee for relief planning for those area codes (the relief planning committee [RPC]). This advancement was required as a result of an updated numbering resource utilization forecast that indicated that these area codes would exhaust in September 2015 instead of January 2017.

2. The Commission requested that the RPC update the relief implementation plan for area codes 226 and 519 to reflect the determinations set out in that decision and refile the plan for Commission approval.

3. On 16 December 2013, the RPC submitted an updated relief implementation plan for Commission approval.

4. The Commission has reviewed and approves the updated relief implementation plan.
