Application 2014-0531-6

CBM-FM-1 Sherbrooke Technical changes

  1. The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to change the authorized contours of CBM-FM-1 Sherbrooke, a transmitter for the English-language radio programming undertaking CBM-FM Montréal, by decreasing its maximum effective radiated power from 25,000 to 16,900 watts and increasing its effective height above average terrain from 172.9 to 180.4 metres.
  2. The CBC stated that the technical changes would improve the transmitter’s signal quality in the Sherbrooke region.
  3. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
