The application numbers are set out in the appendix.

Licence renewals

1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the English-language commercial radio programming undertakings set out in the appendix to this decision from 1 September 2014 to 31 August 2021. The licensee shall adhere to the conditions of licence set out in Broadcasting Regulatory Policy 2009-62, as amended from time to time, as well as the conditions of licence set out in the most recent licence renewal decisions noted in the appendix to this decision.

2. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding these applications.

3. As noted in Broadcasting Decision 2010-735, CFGX-FM Sarnia, CHKS-FM Sarnia, CHOK Sarnia, CKNX Wingham, CKNX-FM Wingham, CKUE-FM Chatham and CFCO Chatham were found in non-compliance in their previous licence terms with section 9(2) of the Radio Regulations, 1986 relating to the provision of annual returns. The Commission notes that these stations have been found in compliance with their regulatory requirements over the current licence term. The Commission therefore finds it appropriate to renew the licences for a full seven-year term.

Reminder

4. Pursuant to section 22 of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission reminds the licensee that the broadcasting licences will cease to have any force or effect if the broadcasting certificates issued by the Department of Industry lapse.

Employment equity

5. Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with the Department of Employment and Social Development, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
