Pursuant to sections 72.02 of the Telecommunications Act, S.C. 1993, c. 38 (the Act), the undersigned has issued this Notice of Violation finding Solus VB Inc. to have committed the following violations contrary to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC’s) Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules (the Rules) made under section 41 of the Act:

Between 8 February 2012 and 9 February 2012, unsolicited telecommunications were made by Solus VB Inc. to conduct a calling campaign. These telecommunications were made using an Automatic Dialing-Announcing Device (ADAD) resulting in violations of Part IV, subsection 4d) of the Rules, for not providing the name of the person on whose behalf the telecommunication was made and not providing a telephone number and mailing address where the telecommunication originator could be reached.

Pursuant to section 72.01 of the Act, the undersigned has determined that the total penalty for the violations identified above is $5,000.

The penalty of $5,000 must be paid by Solus VB Inc. to “The Receiver General for Canada” in accordance with subsection 72.09(3) of the Act.
