Re: Part VII Application by TELUS Communications Inc. to review and vary Telecom Decision CRTC 2009-85, Public Works and Government Services Canada – Application for a Commission determination regarding telecommunications services provided by Bell Canada

This is further to Bell Canada 's letter dated 30 July 2009 requesting an extension to the time in which it may file a reply to the Part VII Application by TELUS Communications Company to review and vary Telecom Decision CRTC 2009-85, 20 February 2009 (Decision 2009-85).   Bell Canada stated that the two individuals at the Company who are most knowledgeable about the ongoing Bell Canada relationship with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and the Department of National Defence, and about the circumstances leading to Decision 2009-85, are both unavailable the first two weeks of August.   To allow sufficient time to prepare a response, Bell Canada requested that the deadline be extended from 28 August 2009 to 11 September 2009.

In the circumstances, Commission staff consider the request to be reasonable.   Accordingly, Bell Canada , PWGSC and other persons who participated in the proceeding leading to Decision 2009-85 may file a response to TELUS' application by 11 September 2009.   TELUS may file its reply by 21 September 2009.

All documents must be served on all persons who participated in the proceeding leading to Decision 2009-85 by the date the document is to be filed with the Commission.   All documents must actually be received, and not merely sent, by the dates provided.

Yours sincerely,
