The Commission adds the following paragraphs as paragraphs 3 through 6 to Broadcasting Decision 2007-272:

3. In Broadcasting Decision 2007-44,the Commission approved applications by Klondike Broadcasting Company Limited (Klondike) to amend the broadcasting licence for CKRW Whitehorse, in order to operate FM transmitters at Atlin, British Columbia and Inuvik, Northwest Territories, to rebroadcast the programming of CKRW Whitehorse. The Commission notes that these transmitters have not yet been implemented.

4. The Commission reminds Klondike that the Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while applications to add the transmitters at Atlin and Inuvik are conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue broadcasting certificates when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

5. The Commission also reminds Klondike that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the authorities for the transmitters at Atlin and Inuvik will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that broadcasting certificates will be issued.

6. Finally, the Commission reminds Klondike that the transmitters at Atlin and Inuvik must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 31 January 2009, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before that date. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 60 days before that date.
