  Application 2007-0351-3, received 28 February 2007
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2007-32

CKFX-FM North Bay - Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by Rogers Broadcasting Limited (Rogers) to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CKFX-FM North Bay, by increasing the antenna height.
2. In support of its proposal, Rogers stated that the station experiences a number of signal problems associated with multi-path interference and in-building penetration, and that the increase in antenna height is necessary for the station to provide the best possible signal quality to North Bay and surrounding areas. The licensee added that the proposed change would also improve in-car signal reception along the Highway 11 corridor.
3. The Commission notes that this change will result in a significant increase in the authorized contours of the station.
4. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
5. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
