CHLM-FM Rouyn-Noranda - Licence amendment

1.

The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CHLM-FM Rouyn-Noranda in order to add transmitters CBFZ-FM Témiscaming and CBFY-FM Ville-Marie to broadcast the programming of its national, French-language network service La Première Chaîne.

2.

CBFZ-FM and CBFY-FM were originally licensed to the CBC as radiocommunication distribution undertakings (RDUs) to broadcast the programming of CHLM-FM, which was licensed to Radio Nord Communications inc. In CHLM-FM Rouyn-Noranda and its transmitter CHLM-FM-1 Amos/Val d'Or - Acquisition of assets, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2004-399, 1 September 2004, the Commission approved an application by the CBC to acquire the assets of CHLM-FM.

3.

Given that the CBC is now the licensee of CHLM-FM, it no longer needs a separate licence for CBFZ-FM and CBFY-FM. For this reason and consistent with the CBC's request, the Commission revokes the RDU broadcasting licences for CBFZ-FM and CBFY-FM.

4.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
