CICY-FM Selkirk and its transmitters - Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the English- and Native-language Type B native FM radio programming undertaking CICY-FM Selkirk and its transmitters CIPM-FM Peguis and CIFR-FM Fairford, from 1 September 2006 to 31 August 2013.

The Commission received one intervention in support of this application.

The licence will be subject to the conditions specified therein as well as to the following conditions:
 
  • The licensee shall broadcast no more than an average of 4 minutes of advertising per hour per day, with a maximum of 6 minutes in any given hour, in accordance with Native Broadcasting Policy, Public Notice CRTC 1990-89, 20 September 1990.
 
  • The licensee shall adhere to the guidelines on gender portrayal set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' (CAB) Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.
 
  • The licensee shall adhere to the provisions of the CAB's Broadcast code for advertising to children, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.
