  The licensee wishes to increase the quality of the signal of the station.

Banff, Alberta

  Application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the broadcasting licence for its radio programming undertaking CBR Calgary.
  The CBC proposes to add an FM transmitter at Banff to broadcast the programming of CBR Calgary in order to serve the population of Banff.
  The transmitter would operate on frequency 96.3 MHz (channel 242A) with an average effective radiated power of 250 watts (maximum effective radiated power of 1,180 watts/antenna height of -222.1 metres).
  The CBC states that the current AM transmitter CBRB is located on a site owned by Canadian Pacific who advised the CBC that it would have to vacate the current location. Consequently, the CBC has decided to convert CBRB to the FM band which will allow it to consolidate its television and radio transmitting facilities at the same site.
  The CBC is requesting permission to simulcast the programming of CBR Calgary on the new FM transmitter and on the AM transmitter CBRB Banff for a period of three months from the date of implementation of the new FM transmitter.
  The CBC is also requesting to amend the licence of CBR Calgary by deleting the AM transmitter CBRB Banff effective at the end of the simulcast period.

  Application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the licence of the television programming undertaking CBUT Vancouver, British Columbia.
  The licensee proposes to add a low-power TV transmitter inRevelstoke to broadcast the programming of CBUT Vancouver to serve the population of Revelstoke.
  The transmitter would operate on channel 5 LP with a transmitter power of 6.3 watts (antenna height of 91.1 metres).
  The CBC indicates that it is not renewing its affiliation agreement with the Global Television which will end 31 August 2005.
  This application has been filed in order to provide the full CBC English Television Network service to the residents of Revelstoke. This service will replace the CBC affiliated service presently provided by Global Communications Limited through its transmitter CHRP-TV-2 Revelstoke.

  Application by Aboriginal Voices Radio Inc. (AVR) for an extension of time limit to commence the operation of the radio programming undertaking authorized in New Aboriginal-language radio station to serve Vancouver approved in part, Decision CRTC 2001-314, 5 June 2001, as well as the transmitter authorized in New transmitter in Abbotsford, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-67, 21 February 2003.
  The applicant is requesting an extension until 5 December 2005. AVR indicated that the extension of time to implement was necessary in order to apply to the Commission for an alternate frequency to serve Vancouver.
  The current application represents the fourth request for an extension of time for the radio programming undertaking at Vancouver.
  The Commission approved the first request for an extension of time from 5 June 2002 to 5 June 2003 in Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-172, dated 3 July 2002; the second request for an extension of time to 5 June 2004 was approved in Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-189, dated 16 June 2003; the third extension to 1 December 2004 was approved in Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2004-292 dated 23 July 2004.
  This is the first request for an extension of time for the transmitter at Abbotsford.

  The licensee proposes to add an FM transmitter atYellowknife to broadcast the programming of CBU-FM Vancouver Radio Two in order to serve the population of Yellowknife.
  The transmitter would operate on frequency 95.3 MHz (channel 237A1) with an effective radiated power of 114 watts (non-directional antenna).
  The licence for the above-noted transmitter is presently issued to The Yellowknife Rebroadcasting Society (The Society) as a radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) and expires 31 August 2005. This transmitter currently rebroadcasts the programming of CBU-FM Vancouver Radio Two.
  The Society has indicated it no longer wishes to operate this radiocommunication distribution undertaking.
  Should this application be approved, The Society has indicated that it wishes to have its RDU licence revoked.
