  Application 2005-0540-7
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2005-65

CICA-TV Toronto - Licence amendment

1. The Commission approves the application by The Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVOntario) to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CICA-TV Toronto by deleting the transmitters CICO-TV-61 Serpent River, CICO-TV-55 Algoma Mills and CICO-TV-62 Spragge.
2. The licensee indicated that the municipalities concerned currently have an agreement with TVOntario regarding the installation and maintenance of transmitting equipment on municipal properties. It has been noted by each municipality, however, that the regions are adequately served by cable and satellite services, negating the need for the transmitting facilities. Therefore, the municipalities have requested that TVOntario remove its transmitters from municipal lands.
3. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
