Network interconnection agreement

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc. (TELUS Québec)1, dated 29 April 2004, requesting approval of a network interconnection agreement between TELUS Québec, Télébec Limited Partnership and Aliant Telecom Inc. (collectively, the parties).

The proposed agreement sets out the terms and conditions for the interconnection of facilities in order to establish a Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) ring between wire centres within the parties' territories in northern Québec and western Labrador.

3.

TELUS Québec filed its application in confidence, but provided an abridged version for the public record.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission finds that TELUS Québec has satisfied the requirements necessary to demonstrate that its application conforms to the regulatory regime to which the parties are subject.

6.

Accordingly, the Commission approves TELUS Québec's application.
