Telecom Order CRTC 2004-285

  Ottawa, 24 August 2004

Sogetel inc.

Reference: Tariff Notices 119 and 119A

Network extension charges

1.

The Commission received an application by Sogetel inc. (Sogetel), dated 28 April 2004 and amended on 15 July 2004, to revise General Tariff item 3.2, Network Extension Charges, in order to introduce a capital cost limit of $15,000.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that the limit of $15,000 has been approved for several small incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs). The Commission also notes that an upper limit of $25,000 was adopted for the larger ILECs. The Commission is of the view that the lower limit is more appropriate for smaller ILECs.

4.

The Commission approves Sogetel's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this Order.

5.

Sogetel is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect this change.
