Telecom Order CRTC 2004-103

  Ottawa, 31 March 2004

Amtelecom Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 51

Primary exchange service

1.

The Commission received an application by Amtelecom Inc. (Amtelecom), dated 24 February 2004, to revise item 3.03, Monthly Recurring Charges, under section 100 of its General Tariff in order to increase its residential individual line service rate that would apply in all of its exchanges.

2.

In Amtelecom Inc.'s request to review and vary Decision 2001-756 and Order 2002-230, Telecom Decision CRTC 2004-9, 19 February 2004, the Commission directed Amtelecom to file revised uniform rates which would apply to all residential individual line service subscribers for all exchanges served by the company in order to achieve revenues equal to those that would have been achieved had the company increased the rate for this service by $2.90 in all exchanges except Manitoulin. Currently, the residential individual line service rate in the Manitoulin exchange is $27.77 and in all other exchanges is $26.06. In its application, Amtelecom proposed a residential individual line service rate of $28.75 that would apply in all of Amtelecom's exchanges.

3.

The Commission notes that Amtelecom has notified its affected subscribers of the proposed rate adjustment through a billing message.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Amtelecom's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 April 2004.

6.

Amtelecom is to issue a revised tariff page forthwith to reflect these changes.
