S.S.TV - Licence amendment

1.

The Commission approves the application by S.S.TV Inc. to amend the licence for the national Category 2 specialty television service known as S.S.TV in order to amend its nature of service condition of licence, to alter the languages that may be broadcast by the service.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

In SSTV, Decision CRTC 2000-648, 14 December 2000, the Commission imposed the following condition of licence:
 
  • No less than 50% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Punjabi.
 
  • No more than 25% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Hindi.
 
  • No more than 25% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in English.

4.

As proposed by the licensee, the Commission hereby replaces the above condition with the following conditions of licence:
 
  • No less than 50% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Punjabi.
 
  • No more than 38% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Hindi.
 
  • No more than 7% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Urdu.
 
  • No more than 5% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in English.
