Distribution of distant Canadian signal on the basic service

1.

The Commission approves the application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) for authority to distribute the distant Canadian signal of CJIL-TV Lethbridge, Alberta, as part of the basic service of the cable distribution undertaking serving Regina, Pilot Bute, White City, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, North Battleford, Battleford, Yorkton, Weyburn and Estevan.

2.

SaskTel stated that the authority would enhance the diversity of Canadian programming available to subscribers in the above-mentioned communities.

3.

The Miracle Channel Association, licensee of CJIL-TV, indicated that it would not accept local advertising from the above-mentioned communities.

The Commission received no interventions in connection with this application.
