Distribution of distant Canadian signals on the basic service

1.

The Commission approves the application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) for authority to distribute, as part of the basic service, the distant Canadian signal of CFRE-TV Regina in the community of Weyburn, and of CFSK-TV Saskatoon in the community of North Battleford.

SaskTel stated that the authority would result in it being able to provide the same signals offered by other broadcasting distribution undertakings serving Weyburn and North Battleford.

Global Communications Limited, licensee of both CFRE-TV and CFSK-TV, indicated that it had no objection to SaskTel's proposal.

4.
