Telecom Order CRTC 2003-71

Ottawa, 12 February 2003

Thunder Bay Telephone

Reference: Tariff Notice 103

Digital Network Services

1.

The Commission received an application by Thunder Bay Telephone, dated 1 November 2002, to introduce items 7.01, 7.02 and 7.03, OC-3 Digital Network Access Service, to its General Tariff. The new items provide for the interexchange portion of an OC-3 digital facility between two points in the same exchange or between exchanges.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that in Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001, it assigned the services in question to the fourth price cap service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for such services would generally be permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service.

4.

The Commission notes that the proposed rates for the services in question were previously approved for the same services of Bell Canada in Telecom Order CRTC 2002-108.

5.

In the light of the above, the Commission approves Thunder Bay Telephone's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

Thunder Bay Telephone is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith.
