Telecom Order CRTC 2003-67

Ottawa, 6 February 2003

Bell Canada

Reference: Tariff Notice 6719

Lease of channels and channels for data transmission

1.

The Commission received an application by Bell Canada, dated 17 December 2002, to revise General Tariff items 4550, Lease of channels, and 4660, Channels for Data Transmission, in order to remove the following data channel services and features as there are no customers for these services and they are no longer available due to the manufacturer's discontinuation of the equipment used to support them:

- General Tariff items 4660.9 and 4550.10, Data Channel alternate use arrangements;
- General Tariff item 4660.10, Data Channel channel deriving arrangements.
2.

In is application, Bell Canada also proposed to remove the contract option from General Tariff item 4660.11(b), Data Channel central office bridging arrangements associated with Schedule 4 channels, since they are not provided to any customers on a contracted basis. Bell Canada noted that central office bridging arrangements would continue to be available on a monthly rental basis.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission approves Bell Canada's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
