Telecom Order CRTC 2003-287

  Ottawa, 16 July 2003

Hay Communications Co-operative Limited

  Reference: Tariff Notice 24

Billing and collection services

1.

The Commission received an application by Hay Communications Co-operative Limited (Hay Communications), dated 10 June 2003, in order to transfer item 1000, Billing and Collection Services Type 2, of section 10 of the Ontario Telecommunications Association's (OTA) Ontario Independent Services Tariff to section 210, Billing and Collection Services, of Hay Communications' General Tariff.

2.

Hay Communications indicated that this transfer of responsibility would allow the company to modify the billing and collection tariff without affecting other OTA members. Hay Communications further indicated that it would request OTA to remove the company's name from section 10, Billing and Collection Services, of the OTA's Ontario Independent Services Tariff.

3.

In addition, Hay Communications proposed to implement a minimum service fee that it would charge service providers who utilize the billing and collection services. The company submitted that this minimum charge would ensure that it is compensated for the costs incurred.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Hay Communications' application. The revisions take effect as of 1 September 2003.

6.

Hay Communications is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect this change.
