Partial cable distribution system arrangement

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 8 May 2003, to revise the CATV Billings section of its Supplementary Tariff in order to destandardize and terminate the lease of a partial cable distribution system arrangement.

In its application, Aliant Telecom submitted that there was only one licensed cable television undertaking leasing the system and it had provided its customer the option to purchase the partial system offering (PSO) cable. The company further submitted that it would continue to provide the service until 1 January 2004 to permit its customer to replace the PSO facilities or to finalize the purchase of the company's existing cable distribution plant.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions pertaining to the destandardization of the PSO facilities take effect as of the date of this order and the withdrawal of the service as of 1 January 2004.
