  Ottawa, 2 June 2003

TELUS Communications Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notices 94 and 94A

Hot line service

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 21 March 2003 and amended on 25 April 2003, to add General Tariff item 512, Hot Line Service, which would replace General Tariff (CRTC 18001) item 545, Dedicated Line Service: - Automatic Dial - Automatic Connect; General Tariff (CRTC 1005) item 152, Off-Hook Service; and Special Facilities Tariff (CRTC 21463) item 517, Private Line Service - Automatic Ringdown (B.C. only). The company stated that the proposed Hot Line Service tariff would retain the existing tariff names for the individual services.

2.

TCI proposed:
  · to increase the monthly rate for the TCBC Off-Hook Service for residential customers from $4.10 to $4.51 and for business customers from $4.45 to $4.90; and
  · to decrease the monthly rate for Automatic Dial, Automatic Line C.O. feature (Alberta) from $7.30 to $6.82.

3.

TCI also proposed to grandfather the Dedicated Line Service - Automatic Connect (Alberta), Private Line Service - Automatic Ringdown (B.C.) and Off-Hook service (in B.C.) for residence customers.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order. The Commission directs TCI to file an update to the index for other capped services to reflect the rate changes. TCI is reminded that it is to file an update to the index for capped services to reflect rate changes, whether or not the rate changes are revenue neutral.
