CKUA-FM-14 Banff - Technical change

1.

The Commission approves the application by CKUA Radio Foundation to change the authorized contours of CKUA-FM-14 Banff, a transmitter for the radio programming undertaking CKUA-FM Edmonton.

2.

The licensee indicated that the proposed change would result from an increase in the effective radiated power from 84 watts to 540 watts and would extend the authorized contours further to the south-east and reduce them in the north.

3.

The Commission notes that the increase in power will upgrade the transmitter for CKUA-FM-14 from Class A1 to Class A.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
