Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-457

  Ottawa, 10 September 2003
La Coopérative radiophonique de Toronto inc.
Toronto, Ontario
  Application 2003-0744-8

Deadline to file technical submission

1.

The Commission approves the application by La Coopérative radiophonique de Toronto inc. for an extension of the time limit to file with the Department of Industry (the Department) a full technical submission and a contour authorization application for the radio station authorized in French-language FM community radio station in Toronto, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-116, 17 April 2003.

2.

The Commission grants the applicant an extension to 17 October 2003 to file the applicable documents with the Department. If the Department determines that the proposed technical parameters are acceptable, and establishes that those parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services, it will notify the Commission that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.

3.

The Commission reminds the applicant that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, no licence may be issued until the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.

4.

Furthermore, the licence for this undertaking will be issued once the applicant has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operations. The undertaking must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 17 April 2005, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before this date. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted at least 60 days before this date.
