Acquisition of assets

1.

The Commission received applications by Phil Wintemute, Telecommunications Manager, Department of Highways and Public Works, Government of Yukon, and his successors to the position for authority to acquire, from Dan McArthur, the assets of the radio programming undertakings VF 2359 Beaver Creek, VF 2360 Carcross, VF 2412 Dawson City (Ferry Terminal), CJBD-FM Destruction Bay, VF 2366 Sourdough and VF 2358 Stewart Crossing. Phil Wintemute and his successors also requested broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

The Commission approves the applications by Phil Wintemute and his successors1 for authority to acquire the assets of the above-mentioned radio programming undertakings and for broadcast licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.

4.

The Commission will only issue the licences once Dan McArthur has surrendered the current licences to the Commission.

5.

The licences will expire on 31 August 2009 and will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those in effect under the existing licences.
