SmartTouch services promotion

1.

The Commission received an application by Bell Canada, dated 1 November 2002, to revise General Tariff items 2025, Integrated Voice Messaging Service (IVMS) and 2165, Calling Features, in order to introduce a promotion entitled "2 for 1 À La Carte SmartTouch Offer". This promotion would be offered periodically to existing single line residential customers who do not subscribe to at least two of the eligible services, from 3 January 2003 to 31 December 2003, for a limited duration each time.

In its application, Bell Canada proposed that during this promotion, eligible customers who subscribe to any of the eligible services would receive another eligible calling feature free of charge for the first two months of subscription. The eligible services are: Call Display (Name and Number), Call Forwarding, Call Privacy, Call Return, Call Screen, Call Waiting, Ident-A-Call, Three-way Calling, Call Answer and Call Answer Message Manager.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves Bell Canada's application. The revisions take effect as of the 3 January 2003.
