Amtelecom Inc.
Reference: Tariff notices 47 and 47A

Public and semi-public telephone services

1.

The Commission received an application by Amtelecom Inc. (Amtelecom), dated 7 April 2002, and amended on 7 May 2002, to revise General Tariff sections 150, Public Telephone Service, and 160, Semi-Public Telephone Service, in order to:

- replace the existing minimum monthly rate for its semi-public telephone service with a monthly rate equivalent to its monthly individual line business rate, currently at $50.70;

- introduce a $0.25 charge for each originating call, for public and semi-public telephone services, applicable when the connection is established at the request of the calling party for collect, third party or calling card billing; or when the call is billed to a commercial credit card at a card reader pay telephone;

- clarify that the company retains ownership of the semi-public telephone and associated equipment; and

- provide that there is no charge for calls placed to 9-1-1 for public and semi-public telephone services.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves Amtelecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

Amtelecom is to issue forthwith revised tariff pages to reflect these changes.
