Telecom Order CRTC 2002-257

Ottawa, 4 July 2002

MTS Communications Inc.
Reference: Tariff notice 474

Winback promotion

1.

The Commission received an application by MTS Communications Inc. (MTS), dated 25 February 2002, to revise the following items in its General Tariff item 475, Rate Schedule for Primary Exchange Service; item 1980, Centrex; and item 2000, Megalink Service (ISDN Primary Rate Access). The revisions would permit the introduction of a time-limited promotion for subscribers of individual and multiline business services, Centrex service, and Megalink service.

2.

During the period from 1 April 2002 to 30 September 2002, MTS proposed to implement a promotion targeted to business customers who return to MTS from a competitive local exchange carrier. The targeted business customers would be those returning customers who take contracted individual line or multiline service, Centrex service, or Megalink service. When an eligible customer subscribes to any of these four MTS services, during the period of the promotion, the standard service charges for service connection would not apply.

3.

The Commission approved the application on an interim basis in Ex parte application, Telecom Order CRTC 2002-140, 8 April 2002.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves on a final basis MTS' application.
