Billing and collection services

The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Alliance of Publicly-Owned Telecommunications Systems (CAPTS), dated 13 March 2002, to:

· revise section 6000 of the CAPTS General Tariff to identify as Type 1 the billing and collection services for eligible message toll service calls completed over the interexchange carrier's network; and

· introduce section 6001 of the CAPTS General Tariff for Type 2 billing and collection services, which will allow the CAPTS Member Companies enumerated below to bill and collect on behalf of the competitive interexchange carriers or resellers for casual calls and calls charged to a line not pre-subscribed to the carrier handling the call.

CAPTS filed the application on behalf of Bruce Municipal Telephone System, Dryden Municipal Telephone System, Kenora Municipal Telephone System and Thunder Bay Telephone.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
