Amendments to EastLink General Tariff

Reference: Tariff notice 8

1.

The Commission approves on an interim basis, with the following changes,EastLink's amendments to its General Tariff filed on 1 February 2002, in order to adopt the format of the Commission's model tariff for competitive local exchange carriers, and to add provisions to offer interconnection services in the New Brunswick serving territory:

· in the Table of Contents, add the missing reference for item 103, Payment of Charges;

· in item 103, replace sub-item 3 in its entirety, with the following, in order to reflect the Commission recently approved late payment charge in Order CRTC 2001-888, 19 December 2001:

The late payment charge is calculated in accordance with the formula approved on 1984 01 23 by the CRTC and is based on the prime rate of the Bank of Nova Scotia plus 7%. The charge is at the compound rate shown below:

2.50% to 5.50%

1.00% per month (12.68% per annum)

5.75% to 9.00%

1.25% per month (16.07% per annum)

2.00% per month (26.82% per annum)

· in the last sentence of sub-item 3 of item 201.1, Termination of Intra-Exchange Traffic, replace the word "prior" with "following";

· in the table of item 403.4.1, Link charge, per DS-1, replace the monthly charge of $16.83 for New Brunswick with $13.35;

· in the table of item 403.7, Charges for Reserved Telephone Numbers, replace the monthly charge of $0.3984 for New Brunswick with the words "See note", and add the following note immediately below the table:

For New Brunswick, a one-time charge of $0.3984 applies for each telephone number.

· in the table of item 403.8, 100 and 1000 Block Routing, replace the per-block and the per-number monthly charges of $16.83 and $0.04, respectively for New Brunswick, with the words "See note", and add the following note immediately below the table:

For New Brunswick, a one-time charge of $13.00 applies per block of 100 numbers and an additional one-time charge of $0.3984 applies for each telephone number.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission directs EastLink to file the requested revisions forthwith.
