CBKT Regina - New transmitters

1.

The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CBKT Regina in order to operate transmitters in Cypress Hills, Ponteix and Shaunavon.

The new transmitters will operate on channel 2 with an effective radiated power of 2,450 watts in Cypress Hills, on channel 3 with an effective radiated power of 10,500 watts in Ponteix, and on channel 7 with an effective radiated power of 4,500 watts in Shaunavon. These transmitters will enable viewers in Cypress Hills, Ponteix, Shaunavon and the surrounding area to receive the English-language network television programming originating from CBKT Regina.1

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

1 These transmitters used to be authorized to rebroadcast programming of a CBC affiliated station CJFB-TV Swift Current. The Commission revoked the CBC affiliate's licence in CJFB-TV Swift Current - Revocation of licence, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-144, 31 May 2002, after being informed by the licensee that it would cease operations as of 31 May 2002.
