Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-340

CFSX Stephenville - Licence renewal and amendment

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CFSX Stephenville from 1 December 2002 to 31 August 2009 subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999.

2.

Further, the Commission approves the application to amend the licence for CFSX in order to add CFGN Channel-Port-aux-Basques and its transmitter CFCV-FM St. Andrew's. The Commission notes that CFGN's programming, including its commercial messages, has no local component and is identical to the programming broadcast by CFSX. There is thus no need for CFGN and its transmitter to be licensed separately from CFSX.

3.

No intervention was filed in connection with this application.

4.

Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports with Human Resources Development Canada, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
