Decision CRTC 2001-377

Ottawa, 3 July 2001

Gary Miles - Executive Vice-President
Radio Operations
Rogers (Alberta) Ltd.

RE: APPROVAL -- Application No.: (2001-0518-1)
Rogers (Alberta) Ltd.
CHRK-FM-1 Banff (transmitter of CHRK-FM Calgary)
ERP and Contour change

Dear Mr. Miles:

This refers to your application dated April 9, 2001 to change the contours and effective radiated power from 9 watts to 200 watts of CHRK-FM-1 Banff, a transmitter of the radio programming undertaking CHRK-FM Calgary.

It should be noted that the increase in effective radiated power from 9 watts to 45 watts and the relocation of the transmitter which was approved in Decision CRTC 99-162 was never implemented.

The Commission notes that this change does not result in any significant change in the service contour and the revised contours do not encompass any new markets.

This approval is subject to written receipt from the Department of Industry, within six (6) months of the date of this decision, that it is prepared to amend your Broadcasting Certificate and that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM service and that its technical requirements have been met.

All letters of approval issued by the Commission are made available for public examination at the Commission's central office. The Commission also requires you to append this letter of approval to the licence of your undertaking.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
