Decision CRTC 2001-251

Ottawa, 30 April 2001

Mr. Claude Chabot
Director General
Radio Communautaire Kapnord Inc.
23 Brunetville Road
Kapuskasing, Ontario
P5N 2E9

Subject: Application 2001-0477-9 - Approved
Extension of time limit - transmitter at Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario
Radio Communautaire Kapnord Inc. - CKGN-FM Kapuskasing

Dear Sir:

We are pleased to inform you that the Commission has approved your application to extend the implementation date for Decision CRTC 2000-105 (20 April), authorizing the operation of a transmitter at Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario.

The Commission grants a six-month extension, namely until 20 October 2001.

This extension does not, however, relieve you of the responsibility to complete the construction and implement the new transmitter at an earlier date.

Should the work not be completed within the period stipulated in this decision or should the Commission deny an application for extension filed by the licensee, the amended licence will not be issued.

As stipulated in the decision, the authorization will only be effective and the licence will only be amended at such time as the transmitter is constructed and ready to begin operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to notify the Commission, in writing, once it has completed construction of the transmitter and is prepared to commence operation, so its amended licence can be issued.

The Commission requires that this decision be appended to the licence of your undertaking.

Yours truly,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
