Order CRTC 2000-995

Ottawa, 31 October 2000

Saskatchewan Telecommunications
Tariff Notices 04 and 05

  Central office license arrangement

1.

The Commission approves on an interim basis Special Facilities Tariffs (SFTs) proposed in Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) Tariff Notices 4 and 5. The tariffs provide for central office space, electrical power and environmental conditioning for the co-location of customer-provided equipment.

2.

The Commission also approves the Customer License Agreement associated with these Special Facilities Tariffs subject to the deletion of the restriction on resale. The words "or utilize the Customer Equipment for resale or sharing with a third party or joint use by a third party" are to be deleted from paragraph 8.02.

3.

In its letter of 21 September 2000, the Commission disposed of Bell Canada Tariff Notices 6475 and 6475A and Covad Communications Canada Inc.'s part VII application, and initiated further process for SaskTel on access to co-location under the General Tariff for digital subscriber line service providers (DSLSPs).

4.

If customers of the SFTs approved in this order are DSLSPs and the Commission's findings in the 21 September letter are extended to SaskTel, they will have the option of migrating to the General Tariff rates and terms for co-location without penalty.

5.

SaskTel filed the applications on 29 September 2000 to add Items 1000.47 and 1000.48 to its Special Facilities Tariff.

6.

The revisions take effect on the date of this order.
