Order CRTC 2000-550

Ottawa, 16 June 2000
TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc.
Tariff Notice 4068

Promotion

The Commission denies TCBC's request to introduce a Local Business Contract Option Signing Bonus promotion.
The Commission considers that the proposed promotion under Tariff Notice 4068 is not substantially different from TCBC's recently expired Business Winback Service Charge Waiver promotion which targeted all business customers who were obtaining their local service from a Competitive Local Exchange Provider. This expired promotion commenced 5 February 1999 and ended 4 February 2000.
In view of the above, the Commission considers that it would not be appropriate to approve the proposed promotion without the support of an imputation test.
TCBC filed the application on 25 April 2000 to revise General Tariff Item 32.
