Further to its Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2000-1-3 dated 25 February 2000 relating to its Public Hearing which will be held on 25 April 2000 at the Plaza 500 Hotel, 12th Avenue West, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Commission announces the following:

YORKTON, Saskatchewan
Application (199916699) by GX RADIO PARTNERSHIP (Yorkton Broadcasting Company Limited and Walsh Investments Inc., partners of GX Radio, a general partnership) for a broadcasting licence to carry on an English-language FM radio programming undertaking at Yorkton. The new station would operate on frequency 94.1 MHz (channel 231C1) with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts.
The applicant will not operate within the specialty format, and is proposing to provide a music service falling into category 21 (Pop, Rock and Dance).
The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that it is technically acceptable.
