Acquisition of assets

1.

The Commission approves the applications for authority to acquire the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Clearwater from the Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce, as well as the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Vavenby from the Vavenby Community Club and Recreation Commission and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.

Upon surrender of the current licences, the Commission will issue licences to The Thompson Valley Television Society, expiring 31 August 2006, to carry on the undertakings referred to above. The licences will be subject to the conditions specified in the licences to be issued.

The licensee is authorized to distribute in non-encrypted mode, on each of the two undertakings, the programming services of CFJC-TV and CHKM-TV Kamloops and the Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network)

4.

The licensee is authorized to distribute these services on channels 2 and 10, each with a transmitter power of 20 watts, and on channel 8 with a transmitter power of 10 watts at Clearwater; and on channels 6, 7 and 12, each with a transmitter power of 10 watts at Vavenby.

5.

The Department of Industry has advised that channels 2 and 10 at Clearwater will have a transmitter power of 20 watts, rather than 25 watts as indicated in Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 1999-13 dated 16 December 1999.
