Decision CRTC 2000-427

Ottawa, 2 November 2000

C.J.S.D. Incorporated
Thunder Bay, Ontario - 199810206

Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 2000-112 dated 4 August 2000

Licence renewal for radio station CKPR

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CKPR Thunder Bay, from 1 March 2001 to 31 August 2004, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.

2.

The licence term granted by the Commission will allow it to consider the next renewal of this licence together with that of CJSD-FM, the licensee's Thunder Bay FM station. It does not reflect any concern regarding the licensee's performance.

3.

The Commission authorizes the licensee, by condition of licence, to operate its station under a local management agreement for a period of time not exceeding 31 August 2004, the licence expiry date.

4.

The Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources
(PN 1992-59).

5.

The Commission acknowledges the five interventions submitted in support of CKPR's licence renewal.
