  Nine-month administrative renewal

The Commission renews the television network licence of the Société de télédiffusion du Québec (Télé-Québec) and that of the television programming undertaking CIVM-TV Montréal and its transmitters, from 1 September 2000 to 31 May 2001, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.

The decision released today does not dispose of any substantive issue that may exist with respect to the renewal of these licences. The Commission will announce, as soon as possible, the licence renewal applications and interested parties will then have an opportunity to comment.
