Decision

Ottawa, 26 August 1999
Decision CRTC 99-351
Telemedia Radio inc.
Montréal, Quebec - 199903761
14 June 1999 Public Hearing
National Capital Region
Radio network to broadcast the programs of CITE-FM
1.  The Commission approves the application by Telemedia Radio inc. for a French-language radio network licence for the purpose of rebroadcasting the programming broadcast on CITE-FM Montréal from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. from Monday to Sunday. This programming includes "Le Décompte Rock-détente", "Programme de star" and any other production of special programs to be broadcast during survey periods and special events.
2.  The Commission will issue a network licence expiring 31 August 2005, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
3.  The Commission has granted a licence term that is less than the maximum of seven years permitted by the Broadcasting Act. This will allow the renewal of this licence to be considered at the same time as that of the originating station.
Conditions of licence
By conditions of licence, the licensee must:
·  adhere to the guidelines on gender portrayal set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' (CAB) Sex-Role Portrayal Code for Television and Radio Programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission. The application of the foregoing condition of licence will be suspended as long as the licensee remains a member in good standing of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council; and
·  adhere to the provisions of the CAB's Broadcast Code for Advertising to Children, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.
This decision is to be appended to the licence. It is available in alternative format upon request, and may also be viewed at the following
